Mend Snapper SR1333 Mower Gear

Snapper, SR1333 Lawn Mower?

After lawn mower starts, and put in gear it shuts down.Is this a safety feature, or could there be another problem?

check the switch behind the gear selector mine has a black push button that is engaged when in neutral

also there are 3 wires that are grounded to the motor on the oppisite side of the muffler by the throttle assy
take those loose and make sure they dont touch anything then try it fyi this is also the ground for the run switch so to stop the mower youl have to choke it out
