opel corsa engine light?

Hi i have a 2004 opel corsa bakkie and the management light come on whilst driving and when i stop its cuts of i had a diagnostic check done and the fault given was a speed sensor unit .i had the speed sensor on the gearbox checked but it was fine . Is there another

..ho un problema....mi spiego accendo la macchina ma dopo due secondi si spegne ...ma la cosa particolare è che lampeggia la spia del motore sulla plancia di comandi...spia del controllo del motore sapete spiegarmi perchè??? e perchè poi nn si accende la macchina??

Hi, My 2008 opel corsa light orange engine light is on. I took the car for a service hoping it will fix the problem. When the car came back it was off for 3 weeks and the started again. What could be the problem? Is it a serious thing? The car only has 60 000km.

Help i have corsa 98 and apparently need to change my engine speed sensor - it cuts out, sometimes wont start and over revs but then seems fine for a while? engine light comes on when this happens... does anybody know if this is the speed sonsor or something else as i bought another one but did not work???

I had the same problem, 98' Corsa. Engine light, loss of power had this for 6 months on and off. Read your problem page, possible cause 'air flow meter ' bought one on ebay for £1.04 fixed the problem. Result a very happy chappy. Thanks to all.

If the check engine light only comes on while driving, then the ecu is not probably not getting a signal from the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which on the corsa is located right inside the speedometer unit. If you are brave enough, just have the speedo unit checked out. Make sure all the connectors in the engine bay are secure. Does the engine stall when you stop suddenly after hard acceleration?

Just go to this link and follow the instructions and you have the solution. It worked for me but I was unable to clear the code.

It could be that the O2 (Lambda?) sensor is going - I had the same problem on mine, cost me £25 to get it hooked up and then £70 to have a new sensor fitted - doesn't happen anymore.

Hi,

I' have'nt had a chance to fully check it out, but I might just take the speedo unit out from the dash and have a look there, then have a look and and make sure everything's ok underneath the hood, I actually forgot to mention that the engine was recently replaced,(silly me) because the old one packed in, but the new one is the exact same, if I can just find a way to check the fault code without getting a code reader hooked up to it, thanks for the advice so far, anyone out there have any more tips??
