Goodmans In Car CD Player Error 9?

I have exactly the same problem having just bought a newer car with a Goodmans CD. I contacted the company and have just received an email telling me that the error code means there is dust on the lens and that it needs to be cleaned for a few minutes using a CD lens cleaner. I had already tried a lens cleaner and it gets ejected with the same error. Logically it makes sense that if a CD is ejected then the lens cleaner is almost certain to also be ejected but I don't suppose Goodmans have thought about that. I guess it's worth spending a while trying to get the lens cleaner to work as it may help.
I expect that my reply is far too late to be of any use to you but it may be helpful to others in the future who have the same problem. Having just received Goodmans reply I'll try my lens cleaner a few more times to see what happens or otherwise I shall be buying something that's a bit more upmarket tomorrow.
