OUR HOTPOINT FIRST EDITION WMA13 WASHER DOES NOT START KEEPS COMING UP DOOR NOT LOCKED GOT A NEW DOOR LOCK IT NOW WILL START FOR A MINUTE THEN COMES UP AGAIN DOOR NOT LOCKED HAVE TO PRESS THE RESET BUTTON TO GET IT GOING. Has anyone got any ideas please. This machine has been totally refurbed 8 months ago under warranty by Hotpoint engineers so feel a bit reluctant to scrap it.
I have one of these with this problem, with mine when you press start leave the door open for a few seconds then you have to slam the door, sometimes it takes a couple of goes for the lock to click and it shows the lock symbol in the left hand corner. I know it seems abit extreme but it works.

if its under warranty call them out? could be wires chafing through at front under drum
