how do i re program key remote for peugeot 406 hdi 02?

First, check/replace the battery. If the battery is OK do the following to reprogram this remote to the car:

1. Sit in the car with all the doors closed.
2. Put the remote key in the ignition and turn so the ignition is on but the engine is off
3. Press and hold the big button on the remote for 10 seconds
4. Release the big button and press it again once
5. Turn the ingition off and remove the key

Should now work but process might need to be repeated.
