Mend Vaillant Boiler Leaking

Vaillant combi boiler leaking at the bottom?

My Vaillant combi boiler is leaking at the bottom through the joint between the unit and a solid silver section (sorry don't know what it is) and we have to add water to it quite often. Does this sound like just a new washer for the joint or something that will need to be looked at proffessionally? (Not sure of the model but it is quite old)
