How do I fix my picture tube?

My t.v. screen goes black..is it the picture tube? How can I replace it? 1994 Phillips

Although possible, it's most unlikely to be the tube itself.
There are several other far more likely causes than tube failure. You may have lost EHT supply to the tube. Also, under many fault conditions the TV will blank the display to prevent damage to the tube by a static beam. Could also be video/text processing fault. Maybe worth having an engineer check it over but ask for an estimate.
