Whirlpool AWM 336 door not opening?

After the fuse blew in mid cycle, the door refuses to release the catch. I have tried to re-run the cycle, leave the power on for a while, off for a while & various other combinations. i don't think there is any other problem with the machine, it is filling & draining & 'going through the motions' ok, but the door refuses to budge!

With the power OFF, you'll have to remove the lid and break the doorlock and replace it. You'll also have to find out the cause of the blowing fuse.
