1996 PEUGEOT 306 STARTS THEN STALLS?

THE CAR WILL START THEN STALL EVEN WITH FULL THROTTLE. IT WILL NOT INCREASE REVS BUT WILL RUN ROUGH FOR ABOUT 1 OR 2 SECONDS THEN STALL. THIS CAN BE REPEATED OVER AND OVER AGAIN
