Why does the heater light start flashing on my 02 ford transit?

Why does the heater light sometimes start flashing on my van and when it s flashing it seems to be lackin power

Ford Ford 02 Transit Vehicles, Vans Heater Transit Van

Means the ECU has picked up a fault, you will need to get the van plugged in at Fords and have the fault codes read.
