Mend Gilera DNA50 Brought Second Hand

how can i fix my gilera dna50 2002?

i brought the bike second hand about a month ago.i have had no problems with it except when i brought the bike the electirc start didnt work and the person i brought it off didnt know why. when i try starting it via the electric start i hear a small noise like some cog spinning around ( not sure) but it doesnt start i have to kick start it and idea why the elcetirc doesnt start and how i can fix it?
any help would be appreciated

this could be that the startor motor is dirty, it spins sometimes by the sounds of it, but cannot turn the engine over. if yu replace the starter motor then am sure it will be fine.

if it makes a small buzzing maybe the starter cog inside the transmissions casing is missing or not in the right place.
