my white knight?

my tumble drier is not heating can it be fixed or is it done, it is 7 years old, it did dry first load but when i came home the second load wasn't dry and it had tripped the trip switch, i did try the re-set button at the back but no joy, i really need my drier

I agree with Gary. If Element is ok, suggest blockage. Check filters , exhaust hose, vent flaps. If a condenser drier, is the condenser clean?. If you have checked all these, pressed the reset on back, it most likely can only be heater or cycling stat (or VERY rarely the timer) Thermostat about £8. If you are not that handy, fitting is much more...
Just a thought.. does it tumble? Could be start capacitor. If it doesn't tumble, fan will not run. Overheat 'stat will operate.

If there's no heat but everything else seems to be working OK, then it sounds like the element has gone (do a search on Sensordry for questions/answers relating to similar problems with White Knight tumble driers).

If this is the problem, then it can be easily fixed. I've just bought a new heating element for a White Knight Sensordry 447 for £25.

If you are getting heat but the switch keeps tripping, then there's probably a problem with the airflow eg there's a blockage, or the fan is broken.
