speedometer problem?

I have a peugoet 1998 106. I took the speedo unit out and changed bulbs, but now the speedo dial is not working and I am having to rely on my sat nav to see how many miles per hour I am doing. petrol guage is OK.

Any ideas what is wrong? Also is I buy second hand one off ebay - Won't it be the wrong mileage on it? My car is only low mileage.

change your speedo sensor which is located at the back of your gearbox
