how can i fix my slim ps2 ?

i have a slim ps2 scph-75003 13months old i used it on weekends i wanted to play the new gta lcs but onscreen the message is (unable to read disc) itried all my discs new and old still the same message so i got fed up and opened it cleaned and inspected it still (unable to read disc) . i went and bought a new silver slim ps2 (but iam going to take it back to the shops because this new console is making a louder weird faster spinning sound when playing which i find irritating) . so my problem now is do i bin the black console or is there an easy fix guide thats free?
