Mend Valve Leaking Heating

Anti Backflow valve leaking?

HI! I replaced the antibackflow valve on my 9 year old heating plant because it was dripping from the valve, and the new one is doing exactly the same thing, it has dripped about a pint in the last 12 hours. Is this normal? Could I have a defective valve? What shall I do? Thank you for your input. Paula Fuller

I replaced my backflow valve in my 10 yr. old furnace. In fact I've put two valves on this month, and each leaks more thsn the other, similar to your problem. Have you resolved yours?

the back flow preventer will leak.it is supposed to stop boiler water from entering the domestic water supply. check pressure on the supply side of valve to make sure pressure is not to high
