Mend Peugeot Speedfight 2 Engine Starter Motor

Peugot speedfight 2004 wont start?

My son has bought the bike, was told CDI was faulty so have purchased replacement. Starter motor turns, the plug is sparking but engine wont run. It does kick start either.
Any body out there have any suggestions?
