Mend Honda VTR Problem Help Petrol

I have a rust problem!! Please help if you can!?

Please help!! i have a honda vtr, and have recently just bought different coloured fairings, including a petrol tank! The tank, i noticed, had small rust spots on the inside, however, upon closer inspection, i found that the lower part of the inside has quite alot of rust bubbles!! i'm pretty sure its not eating away at the metal, but its quite a concern!! Is there some sort of fluid i could swish around inside to help the situation at all??
