Mend Light Lost Instruction

pilot light?

my pilot light has gone out. I have lost the instruction manuel. There are are 2 buttons on the top of the heater. 1 like a tyre valve with a cross on the top. this cannot be pressed down. and 1 which looks like the top of a fairy liquid bottle, which when pulled off covers a needle like thingy.

can you please help
