Hotpoint WD72S Washer Dryer, E11 ERROR?

Machine has been working fine for approx 2.5 yrs,

It now stops due to an E11 error 10 minutes into a hot water wash. Spin cycle and rinse programs work on there own, dryer works oks. The water in the drum is cold when open the door.

I think that the E11 error which means there is no hot water supply.

I have checked the external pipes and there is supply to both the hot and cold water connection with good pressure, no kinks.

I would have thought that it is the solnoid valve stuck in the closed position and the controller thinks its open, no flow, hence error message.

can anyone confirm that im on the right path.
