Hi, I used to be a dab hand at changing the brake pads on my car until I got a new punto. After two years I noted that I had to change the pads. Firstly, when i went to the shop to buy the replacement pads, i was told there were about half a dozen possibilities for the model and year of car i have and that i would have to go and take of one of the pads and take it back to the shop so they could check which sort I needed. Then when I took the wheel off I was totally bamboozled by the 'hi-tech' caliper underneath. In the end I stuck the wheel back on and took it to my local garage, where the did the job for me in a couple of hours, and it only cost £38 parts and labour. Do yourself a big favour and get someone else to do it for you.
