DYSON DC07 ANIMAL?

we have a dyson dc07 Animal it keeps cutting out for no reason is there a cut out switch which turns the machine of if it over heats

We have one. It is very sensitive to overheating when the filter (washable) is blocked, and switches of, recovering in about an hour.

Clean the filters!

Check there is no kink in the flex.
Sometimes people don't bother to wind the flex up properly, and it kinks and twists which breaks one of the cables cores.
Doesn't happen very often but might be the cause.
Don't know about a cut off switch though.
