Microsoft account "too many requests" error?

When I try to change the password on my Microsoft account (the one I use for my Edge Browser) I get a "too many requests" error. How do I fix this?

Stop using Microsoft Edge perhaps. I use Brave browser, which is basically Chrome but with some very effective built-in and blocking and privacy features. It sometimes takes a bit of tweaking to get it set up but I've been happy with it so far. Available for Windows and for Android. Dunno about iOS or Linux

My VPN caused this issue. It took me a while to realise it was the cause. Try turning your VPN software off and retry logging into your Microsoft account.
