Maytag LSG1000 Dryer making noise?

Maytag LSG1000 stack washer/ Dryer - -
I replaced the belt on my LSG1000 recently and now the dryer makes a "rubbing/ grinding" sound when the drum is turning. I think I have narrowed it down to the electric motor shaft having been pulled a few millimeters to the right possibly from the tension of the new , tighter belt. I come to this conclusion because there is a noticeable clean spot from where a face plate at the motor shaft has shifted to the right. Would the tension from a new belt pull the motor or shaft hard enough to do this? Is there a way to realign the shaft or motor?
