Mend LG AC2501 Vcr Remote Child Lock

How can I unlock without the remote?

I have an old LG AC2501 vhs recorder and it was working recently, however there is now a red key in a rectangle flashing as soon as I plug it in and no other functions will work. I assume this is the child lock but I have lost the remote is there any way of unlocking this without the remote.
