I have a cracked base bottom cap and can you help me?

A few years ago, companies were replacing base bottom caps because they were cracking and causing unsafe conditions to the user. I believe that they were just replacing them, free of charge, am I right? Well, I never took advantage of this opportunity and I was wondering if Hamilton Beach is still honoring this policy? I have a blender model#52254 and the basebottom cap is cracked in three different places. I won't use it because it might fly off and hurt me. Can you please help me?
