Mend Braun 4736 Problem Turn Top

what could be the problem?

my braun 4736 toothbrush seems to not turn on unless I kind of push the top of the shaft it recharges seems to run as long as ever the only thing is when it's supposed to go to the lower speed it stops and I just give it a push at the shaft away it goes

The problem will more than likely be down to toothpaste residue around the power switch. Give it a good clean with hot water around the switch, dry it off and see if this helps. Also clean out the socket that takes the brush head in a similar manner.
