Mend Bernina Minimatic Stay Shut Open

How do I get the top to stay shut on my Bernina minimatic after cleaning?

I found out how to open the top of my Bernina Minimatic to oil it (hadn't been used for quite some time. Now I find I can't get the top to stay shut. I had been pressing a little lever at the front and top of the faceplate.
