Roof light?

The pins that hold the arms in place were working their way out so had to remove the translucent cover complete with the handles to reset arms retaining pins.

Removal, a 'walk in the park' repleacement Hmm!!! dificult to be polite. I fit one arm on to the frame lug but the other one wont line up, same both sides. one fits the other doesn't line up. Its the type with unlock grip, squeeze the handle to unlock to open rooflight. I removed it in its closed position. I even turned it around in case the arms and lugs were 'handed'.
Any help will be appretiated.
