Peugeot 206 SW 2002 rear wiper?

Smelt something burning at the rear wiper. On checking I found one wire leading to the motor was burning where it was joined by a component that I cannot identify. Can anyone help identify the component and it's size so that I can replace it. It has smouldered so much that I cannot read anything meaningfull from it.
