Mend Mercedes-Benz 313 Mercedes Transmission Gearbox

mercedes 313 tiptronic gearbox 2003?

my sprinter has developed the following issues
on turning on ignition, gearbox doesnt slip into neutral
to start on occasion,, however when it does start it seem to stick itself in third gear whilst reving hi enough that under normal driving would change gear,
any ideas?
