Mend Oven Problem Light

Halogen oven handle problem?

I got a used one and now the handle when open doesn't turn off light and fan. It looks like the small button doesn't pop out all the way anymore when lifting handle. Is there a fix for it. If I lift handle, keeps working. So I have to unplug to check on foods. Then have to plug back in and it will continue cooking.
