Mend Hotpoint Aquarius 1000 Washing Brushes

It seems the brushes have gone on my Hotpoint Aquarius 1000?

Without having the cost of an engineer can someone please give me some guidelines on how to fix this problem myself?

I have today bought some new brushes for my Aquarius 1100 (WM63), and they cost 15.00. Ask for advice on how to remove the old brushes, when you buy the new ones, and they may demonstrate on an old motor. It took me 15 minutes to replace them, and the machine now spins like new.
