Mend Kenmore 385 Sewing Machine Troubleshooting Manual

How do I take the cover off the machine? ?

I have the same Kenmore 385 sewing machine, also stuck in reverse. I can't seem to remove the cover to do any investigation. Tricks for screws or connections I may have missed? I have the manual, it doesn't address this.
