How can I restore heat and hot water from BG 532i boiler?

His earlier colleague did not suggest a cost - the £450 versus £1000 was just for comparison purposes - for a power flush. To illustrate that British Gas tend to be somewhat expensive in comparison to others.

The cost will depend on the work done and the ethics of the supplier.

I believe this is the boiler you have. You will see mention of direct burner ignition; no pilot

One assumes you have done all te self-help things like checking the boiler actualy has an electricity supply

Is your boiler showing any error codes? There is a small diagnostic section to the end of the manual.

I believe the British Gas badged boiler is a Worcester Bosch product.

You may be able to get a call out for a better price than my earlier colleague suggests. Try giving BG and WB a ring. Our last call out was £300

Alternatively a local independant Gas Safe certified engineer may be able to help.

The safest way to restore it to a working condition is to engage the services of a qualified service agent

Expect an expensive experience - if you call on British Gas expect even more expense - in my opinion... My neighbour had work done on her heating system last week for £450 - British Gas quoted her £1000...
