John. Precisely how do you exect anyone to begin trying to help you if you don't even give a hint as to the make of the TV, let alone the model number.

On the basis of the infomrfation you have given, all we can say is there is something wrong with it.

Pnce you have worked out the model number (Lets call it "M0del", one thing you COULD try to actually help yourself is to do a Google search for -say - "M0del stand by light flashing red" and see what other people have found.
