Thanks XXX Found the baffle on ebay but it's too expensive. I will try the howtomendit.com option and see how it goes. if I screw up I will have to get a new refrig.

Interesting post from a bunch of people whose first language isn't English, but it suggests the problem may actually be in the control electronics around the baffle

Note one contributor Replaced both low voltage electrolytic capacitors on microcontroller board. EBay, Amazon or even Maplin should be as good a source as any. Working on the principle that here's nowt to loose, it may be worth a punt.
