Sounds like the motor is "seeing" a stiff window, assuming someone's head (or other bodily appendage) is stuck in it and is helpfully lowering the window.

You could do a Google search for window problems for your particular make and model car (which, for some reason best known to you, you decided we didn't need to know). You are unlikely to be the first person with the problem.
