bermuda 675 the pilot light will not stay on?

i have just got my first home, there is a Baxi Bermuda 675 fire fitted with back boiler, when i follow the instructions to light the pilot light it keeps going out, no matter how long i hold the white start button in. The fire works fine, the system is running from a token meter. many thanks
