Mend Sharp XE-A303 Cash Register

How can I fix my cash register, Sharp XE-A303?

Cash Register Sharp XE-A303 - Screen is reading "NOTíASSIGNEDíííí" on top line and "ΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠöΠΠ". There may have been a power cut during the night that caused this as the backup battery no longer works. I have tried to initialise the register again by holding down the journal key and clear button, turning the key to pgm and plugging on the powercord but this is not successful. Has anyone got any advise that I could try? Thanks
