Mend Vauxhall vivaro Vivaro Fine

Vauxhall vivaro radio plays fine but cd says err, even tho have cleaned CDs?

Have purchased a 2008 vivaro swb van, radio plays fine but on inserting a cd it just says 'err' . Have tried cleaning them which hasn't made any difference. Any ideas? Does the CD player need a code or something?
