lost picture in my Baird 55" lcd tv?

can someone help.
the picture went on my baird 55" tv, and was completely unwatchable. I cleaned every connection in the back of tv, and picture improved. it is now looking like something from a 1960s psycadelic movie with waves of colour moving round the screen, but you can see and read any text that is on screen.
its a great tv, would hate to bin it.
any suggestions please.
