Mend Hotpoint Ceramic Hob

hotpoint ceramic heat selector fails on plates?

I have a hotpoint cro742 ceramic hob. Just replaced the ceramic glass and the compleme control unit. When I select the hot plate ok but when I select the heat level it beeps but stays at 0. Any help please?, is there a reset button or sequence perhaps
