Mend Zanussi FJS1197W Washing Machine Belt Broken

How can I sort my Zanussi FJS1197W belt?

My Zanussi washing machine's belt has broken. When we try and put the new one on (which we do with a struggle) as soon as the wheel turns it slips off.

Is there something else we should be doing? The belt is the correct model.

Thanks for the answer, I did what you suggested and it looks as if you are right and the bearings have gone. I guess this will be more expensive. Is it worth getting them fixed?

jim hi check the drum for up & down movement to see if the bearings have gone this usually makes the belt come off
