shut off valve location?

changed the brushes but cannot see where the shut off val.ve fits.

A shut-off valve?

It's a plumbing thing - to stop the flow so that something may be isolated.

It fits on the pipework.

On an electric drill the trigger switch serves as a shut off valve.
