how do i stop the engine high revs when its hot?

i have a yamaha diversion 600 .when the engine is hot it high revs.does anyone know what is wrong?

sticking throttle cable, check carbs for sticking parts and clean/overhaul idle jets, check for leaks in inlet manifold(s) do a colortune to check fuel/air mixture's ok.
