Mend Stannah 420 Stairlift Bottom

Re Stannah 420 stairlift - grease marks on carpet?

Our stairlift is depositing greasy marks on the carpet at the bottom of its run - underneath the main body rather than the track. I cannot see any obvious leaks/grease tracks so I wonder if anybody has had a similar problem?
