my Stannah stairlift 260 has started to miss the charging points?

hi liz..........not seeing the lift its hard to find the true answer......but if the lift was working fine before and this has just happened it can not be the charge points needing adjusting so my theory is that the brass plunger[underside of bottom skate] that picks up the charge from the points is sticking in causing it not to pick up charge...overtime these can bend slightly due to hitting the slowing down white stop just before the charge points,,,if you can do this yourself or know someone see if the brass plunger moves freely in/out of the plastic sheaf, it might be just dirty or needs straightening/replacing .............hopes this helps...........paul...portsmouth/uk
