Mend Peugeot 2008 Car Working

peugeot 2008 gearbox?

i was driving the car normaly then suddenly the gearbox stopped working no response to move on the car stopped reacting to move the D and R do not response just can move it on manual mode the signs of D and R appears normaly on the screen but no response to move at all

I believe If you leave it in gear for too long stuck in traffic the gearbox computer puts the gearbox into a safety strategy to save the clutch from being damaged
