Can't clear The clock face shows all eights?

You aren't helping much here, are you? What is the thing of which the clock is part? Make? Model?
Is it just a clock? Microwave? cooker? DVD? radio?
Have you tried setting the time?
I fit's a cooker you may have to select "Manual" or Auto" to "release" the clock for setting.
