Mend Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Central Locking Problem

55 reg astra boot locking problem?

My father has problems with the central locking on his 55 plate Astra 1.6. The doors lock and un-lock ok using both the lock and the zapper but the boot always remains unlocked. A few weeks ago it was the opposite problem - the boot could not be unlocked and now it opens but will not lock!!!
Any suggestions please???

Vauxhall Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Vehicles, Cars Central Locking Locking Problem Astra

Had one like this a while ago and it was the rear release button/rubber switch which was full of water/dirt, don`t know if yours will be the same as it was on a newer Astra,but worth a look also,good luck.
